I have spent the majority of the last 2 decades in the floor covering industry in one form or another. During the 2000’s, I owned and operated a local flooring installation company. These beginning years laid the fundamental groundwork for my passion in the flooring industry today. I have personally installed solid nail down hardwoods, engineered glue down hardwoods, tile over both concrete and wood subfloors, floating laminates, locking hardwood and luxury vinyl products.

Why would this be an important skill for a salesman you may ask? With flooring, material selection is a small piece to a diverse project that also requires accurate measurements, clearly communicated expectations, knowledge of subfloor, structural and jobsite conditions, as well as care and maintenance. All of these items factor into the end result of a long lasting floor. I approach every customer like they are family so that they can make the best decision for their business or household. I love shaking the hand of a past customer knowing I did all that I could to deliver an experience that cannot be paralleled. So that is why having both a flooring installation background with product and material knowledge is so powerful. You the customer must consider the project as a whole when purchasing new floor coverings and in this game experience matters.

In the last ten years I was a speciality sales manager for a big box construction retailer, with the bulk of my time working with my flooring specialists. I then went on to a sales estimating role for a local flooring company that experienced their two most profitable years in business. I was the Operations Manager at a large kitchen and bath contractor in Memphis, where I learned large project management plus kitchen and bath computer assisted design. I am the kitchen designer for WMC-TV’s Action News 5 Bluff City Life which is a jewel in my career.
